  • ABOUT THIS COMPONENT

What is an Elevator Traction Machine?

The traction machine is the heart of any elevator. It is the motor-drive unit that physically moves the elevator cabin up and down by winding and unwinding the steel ropes or flat belts connected to the cabin and counterweight. A faulty or worn traction machine leads to rough rides, excessive noise, slow speed, or complete elevator failure. Replacing an old or failed traction machine with a genuine imported unit restores full performance, improves energy efficiency, and ensures passenger safety.
